Fitness enthusiast and reviewer from Rome

The Short Version

I go by Marco Conti and live in Rome, and for the past several years I’ve chronicled my experiences at fitness clubs throughout Italy.

This site came about after tiring of selecting gyms from ads and general suggestions, only to find that the truth didn't match. I wanted precise, honest details about what these places were really like. When I couldn't locate them, I chose to build them myself.

How This Started

My training routine began at a modest gym near Viale di Forma Fitness Center 12 in Rome. It wasn’t flawless, yet it was reachable, inexpensive, and it helped me maintain consistency.

After that venue shut, I observed the rapid evolution of the fitness landscape in Italy. Fresh clubs emerged, new concepts surfaced, and marketing grew louder than the actual member experience.

I began trying various gyms and classes, jotting notes after each visit. Eventually those notes evolved into this site, created to help others make more informed choices.

My Approach to Reviews

All reviews here are based on actual visits and time spent inside the facilities. I emphasize practical details that matter when selecting a membership.

When I review a fitness center, I typically:

  • Allocate sufficient time to understand routines, peak periods, and patterns
  • Visit on various days and times
  • Experiment with multiple training formats and trainers
  • Regularly use amenities to assess cleanliness and comfort
  • Speak with other members about what's consistent and what's not
  • Jot down notes right after each visit

I revise reviews when major changes occur—renovations, changes in management, pricing updates, or new facilities. Each article displays its most recent update date so you can gauge how current the information remains.

What I Look For

My priorities may differ from yours, so here is what matters most to me when assessing a gym:

Comfort and Privacy: Does the space feel genuinely member-friendly, with clear boundaries and a serene atmosphere?

Equipment Quality: Are machines well-maintained? Is there sufficient variety? Are issues resolved promptly?

Crowd Management: Can you actually train during your preferred time without waiting constantly?

Clean Facilities: Locker rooms, showers, floors, and equipment surfaces. Cleanliness shows how seriously management treats the member experience.

Honest Membership Practices: Clear pricing, clear rules, and no unpleasant surprises.

Beyond the Gym

Outside of training and writing, I reside and work in Rome. This project aims to simplify fitness choices and make them more transparent for those seeking the appropriate setting.
